Shesmedi Hospital offers a high quality natural childbirth service.

How do we distinguish the difference between childbirth and natural childbirth?

The advantages of delivering a child at a modern hospital

1. Rapid and reactive treatments in case of emergency (operation, treatment for excessive bleeding, newborn care, postpartum care)

2. When the Labor is delayed, delivery can be medically assisted. (painless labor or use of an Oxytocic to speed up the delivery)

3. Professional obstetricians and gynecologists are in the hospital 24 hours a day, 7 days a week)

The reasons why childbirth at Shesmedi Hospital is special

1. Shesmedi Hospital provides safe delivery rehearsals & prenatal education.
- Safe delivery rehearsals are provided during the 20th, 30th and 35th weeks along with prenatal education classes.

2. From the very beginning of the pregnancy, the midwife service is provided. The midwife assists the mother-to-be with everything she needs to know from the prenatal education to the delivery. The midwife service is available 24 hours a day.

3. Guided and assisted by the medical staff, the father to be can participate in every step of the delivery.

The Practice of Kangaroo Care
Kangaroo Care is a practice that helps in the development of the newborn’s emotional settlement by letting the mother and the baby nestle together for as long as possible and being exposed to each other’s bare skin right after the delivery. This was first practiced in Bogota, Columbia in 1983 due to the lack of incubators for premature babies. However, it is now commonly practiced in first world nations throughout North America and Europe. It is called Kangaroo Care because the method of this practice is similar to how kangaroos give birth to premature babies and then they look after them by keeping them close in their pouch.
